"You must become so free that your very existence is an act of rebellion." -Albert Camus
For the sake of honesty, I'm not sure how many times I actually "read" these three books, but rest assured that I read and re-read all of my favorite scenes multiple times, and scanned these babies more times than I can count.
The Hero and the Crown; The Blue Sword: Both of these were written by the fabulously talented Robin McKinley, whom I adore. She has such a way with worlds and fantasy worlds! These are middle-school-aged books, but I still go back and flip through them, even in my twenties. They hold a very special place in my heart.
Technically, The Hero and the Crown is a prequel to The Blue Sword, but the latter was written first. Fun fact!
Ella Enchanted: I loved this book back when it first came out! I believe I was about ten years old and I used to read it and pretend to be Ella, waiting for my tawny Prince Charming. I still remember that he had tawny skin because that was the first time I'd ever heard the word. Ha!
Of course, highly recommended. :D
